Kyle C. Ward

Engineering Consultant
Kyle was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school as class valedictorian, he attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison on scholarship. There, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering while working as a full-time intern at Heurikon, Corp.
After graduation in 1997, Kyle accepted a full-time software engineering position at Heurikon, designing embedded test software, hardware-level initialization software and SS7 protocol stack engines for real-time, single-board computers. Through acquisitions, Heurikon eventually became Artesyn Technologies.
In 1999, Silicon Valley came calling and Kyle was offered a unique development position at SBE, Inc, where he focused on VxWorks device drivers, protocols and software development & management processes.
Kyle returned to Artesyn Technologies in 2003 continuing to work on VxWorks embedded software designs. By 2006, Artesyn would be acquired by Emerson Network Power. As a result, in addition to his engineering project demands, Kyle was responsible for initiating and promoting software quality initiatives using the CMMI model.
Kyle made a transition from embedded to application development by joining TDS Telecom in 2009, focusing and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technologies and IP networking. At TDS, Kyle became technical lead for their VoIP product line - an infrastructure that included more than 20 physical linux blades and 30 virtualized VMWare servers running the BroadWorks SIP softswitch. After 3 years of technical focus, Kyle accepted a position as Manager of Technology Integration, where he has performed both technical and functional manager duties supporting all of TDS' voice application services. To sharpen his business acumen, Kyle enrolled in and completed his MBA from Arizona State University in 2014.
Balancing work-home life, Kyle is an avid UW hockey fan. He has volunteered his time to area youth hockey as a certified USA Hockey coach and mentor. He looks forward to spending active time golfing, traveling and exploring new cultures.
